HCBBO Foundation Re-affirms its resolve to promote education and community development with the official launch of scholarship and sponsorship programme for indigent students of Ondo State’s public schools.
The bursary was created to offer bursary prizes and scholastic assistance on a yearly basis for the clever pupils who attend public primary and high schools as well as their family members find it difficult to bear the expenditure of training.
The foundation gave support to over 100 students from public schools within the state in its 1st Edition, alleviating the cost of education of the beneficiary. This initiative ensured the student beneficiaries continue their study with hope and confidence.
Following the success recorded during the maiden edition of the programme, the foundation further noted that 2025 edition would place more emphasis on students from the two council areas namely: Owo Local Government Area and Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, while aspiring to extend to more local governments in 2026 as resources and collaborations grow.
The event – scholarship and sponsorship drive, also heralded the official launch of the HCBBO Foundation; a foundation poised to pursue education, enablement, and enduring community development as a long-term endeavor.
Stating the driving principle of the foundation, the founders asserted the significance of educating individuals to escape the chain of poverty for the benefit of the coming generation.

The foundation was established by High Chief Dr. Bode Osedimilehin, the Basegun of Owo Kingdom, and High Chief Mrs. Betty Osedimilehin, the Yeye Basegun of Owo Kingdom, both of whom share a passion for supporting vulnerable members of society through impactful initiatives.
Launch event was accompanied with good will messages and support from various high-profile leaders and members of the Nigeria and Yoruba community in Australia, shows the level of the foundation has begun to build support base within local and International communities.

Among those who identified with the initiative were Engr. Bayo Oke, President of the Yoruba Community in Queensland, Australia; Mr. Abayomi Showunmi, President of the Nigerian Community in Queensland, Australia; and Prince Adedamola Lanre Oguntoyinbo, Vice President of the Yoruba Community in Queensland, Australia.
Others who supported the initiative included Mr. Akin Seun Ajayi, Mr. Rotimi Oloye, and several community stakeholders committed to educational advancement and youth development.
And while HCBBO Foundation will still look to extend its reach, a commitment will be kept in its heart, ensuring financial struggles do not act as a stumbling block to ambitious students realising their dreams.
Partnerships, sponsorships and contributions are also encouraged from both individuals, organisations and corporate entities who may be interested in supporting their efforts to forge better communities through education and empowerment.
