From Kaduna to Global Impact: Dr. Elizabeth Oluwatoyin Osedimilehin Receives Honorary Doctorate
Today marks a historic milestone as we celebrate a woman of resilience, excellence, and selfless service.
Elizabeth Oluwatoyin Osedimilehin, fondly called Betty Osedimilehin, has proven that purpose knows no borders. Her journey began in Kaduna State, Nigeria, where she built a strong academic foundation, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Geographical Sciences from the University of Ilorin.
Her pursuit of knowledge continued in South Africa, where she bagged a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems while raising her young family.
Her calling for service led her to Australia. In 2014, she qualified as a Registered Nurse and, together with her husband, High Chief Dr. Olabode Samson Osedimilehin, began a mission to make quality healthcare accessible in Queensland.

What started as one medical centre in Maryborough has grown into a network of thriving clinics across Hervey Bay and Bundaberg, touching countless lives.
Beyond healthcare, her passion for people shines through the HCBBO Foundation, which she co-founded in 2024. Through the Foundation, she is driving education support, women and artisan empowerment, and hope for underserved communities in Nigeria and beyond.
Her contributions have earned her prestigious recognition, including the chieftaincy title of Yeye Basegun of Owo Kingdom and her appointment as Heritage and Cultural Director of the Yoruba Community in Queensland.
Today, we proudly celebrate her as she is conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of her outstanding leadership, healing, and humanitarian service.
Henceforth, she will be addressed as Her Excellency, Chief Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Oluwatoyin Osedimilehin, D.H.L (Hons).
