The HCBBO Foundation has awarded scholarships and bursaries to 203 scholars towards its pursuit of ensuring that it creates opportunities for students who are from low income backgrounds.
The recent intervention went to people in Owo/Ose and Akure, while the Foundation also helped medical students studying in the Nigerian public universities.
Under the programme which was established by High Chief Dr. Olabode Samson Osedimilehin and High Chief Mrs. Oluwatoyin Elizabeth Osedimilehin, the programme has kept expanding since the Foundation joined the intervention programme in 2024.
The Owo programme attracted other groups of students supporting them in the form of aid. 134 primary and secondary school students received benefit from the programme in Owo/Ose axis.
The programme was subsequently held in Akure, where 69 students benefited from the latest scholarship intervention. This brings the overall number of beneficiaries under the current programme to 203 students, including 21 medical students studying medicine or dentistry in Nigerian public universities.

Speaking on the initiative, the Foundation’s Coordinator, Osedimilehin Dele-Johnson, explained that the programme was created from the desire of the founders to ensure that financial difficulties do not prevent academically promising students from pursuing their education.
As per programme details, it will provide secondary school students with a sum of 100, 000 each, while it will give students in higher institutions 200, 000 each.
In addition to the direct support given to the students, the 2026 programme signals a larger vision for the Foundation. Having scaled its reach in Owo, Ose and Akure, HCBBO Foundation is now also extending its educational intervention to other states outside of Ondo State.
40 students from 20 schools in Ile-Ife, Osun State will also be brought on board on the 26th of September 2026.
The Akure scholarship event also featured the presentation of scholarship certificates to beneficiaries, alongside cultural performances and an Ewi poetry rendition expressing appreciation for the Foundation’s gesture. These moments added a cultural and celebratory dimension to an event centred on education and opportunity.
Traditional rulers and representatives at the programme also commended the initiative and encouraged beneficiaries to take their education seriously.
Their messages emphasised the importance of investing in young people and creating opportunities that can help students remain in school and build better futures.
For the HCBBO Foundation, it is an expansion that keeps the scholarship programme alive as it aims to support more young people in their quest to obtain quality education.
The Foundation is now bringing the spirit of educational intervention to Ile-Ife, Osun State, after starting from Owo and Ose before spreading to Akure.
The journey continues — supporting education, empowering young people and building brighter futures.
